”A both tickling and frightening thought that something very small can have a big impact on the other side of the world, that is what the butterfly effect in chaos theory describes. With my art, I direct my gaze towards some of the smallest but most significant inhabitants of our earth, namely insects and their habitats.
In this exhibition, the smallest get to take the biggest place side by side with us humans. The art form is layered oil painting on canvas. In terms of form, the images oscillate somewhere between portrait and landscape. The smallest are depicted in portrait form.
The portrait is the art form that has been dedicated to important people throughout history, such as kings and business leaders.
The people are placed in natural environments, to remind us that we are part of the earth’s fantastic but complex nutrient tissue.”
