Marianne Hultberg 6 – 27 April 2024
Marianne Hultberg was born in Gothenburg in 1947, but has family roots on the island of Langeland in Denmark. She spends several months each year there, painting in her studio. Langeland is a place that is important in Marianne’s work. Here she wanders through a rolling landscape of whitewashed churches, surrounded by the sea with its long beaches.
In the meeting of earth, sky and sea, she finds peace and freedom, a sense of existing in a kind of timelessness. In creation, passion for painting leads the way. She often does not know where she will end up when she starts, where it will lead – a necessary uncertainty with the risk of loss.
Painting is an expression of how she intuitively experiences life, especially the inner one, and the best way to find the right one is to let go of all ambition and let trust carry. This is usually the most fruitful.
