“I moved to Varberg in the early 80s. There I had a studio in Apelviken. There were exhibitions in Halland and Stockholm. Then in 1988 I came to the National Theater in Gothenburg as a set painter and later became both set designer and costume designer there.
From then on, the theater has been my main occupation along with painting. I have also been studio manager and technical director at several theaters in the country, in Malmö, Stockholm, Borås, Örebro… I am currently working as set and costume designer for the City Theatre in Gothenburg’s production “We don’t pay”.
Painting has often been dominated by lonely people, probably women (a little unclear to me). In the paintings they are placed on a chair. In a way they are exalted, but also vulnerable and fragile. Perhaps inward-looking, waiting for something else….”
